About this project
Witness the majesty of this remarkable project: a 17th-century French Castle, meticulously restored and featuring our Harvested European Mountain Oak in a bespoke grey patina. These floor pieces, crafted with natural colour variations, help to rejuvenate this historic property without having to specify genuine reclaimed oak timber. Through close collaboration with local wood finishers and colourists, we have developed innovative techniques to infuse the wood with nature’s hues. Our pigments, a blend of natural minerals and organic formulations, interact with the wood to create subtle, timeless nuances. This meticulous process, involving numerous intricate steps, allows us to precisely match the wood’s colour to our client’s specifications. Each piece is artistically installed by hand, from floors and doors to walls and tables. This project epitomises the art of slow design: handmade, timeless, and rich with history.
